Agricultural and Extension Education is about doing. It’s about working with youth and adults in agriculture, agribusiness, and natural resources. It’s about working with applied agricultural science in education or employing human relations and leadership skills. It’s about working in positions where teaching, leadership development, and communication skills are important. Agricultural and Extension Education can help prepare you for positions in education and leadership in agriculture, including schools and colleges, cooperative extension, business, trade and professional associations, and government agencies. The teacher education options in this major are approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education for the preparation of agriculture teachers in public school systems.
