This pride is designed to allow academically talented students to participate in a living/learning community that focuses on the science of the entire food, fiber, and natural resource systems, including environmental, animal and plant sciences. Through the program students earn 6.5 credits toward graduation in the following classes:
- AG 150S - Be a Master Student - This class serves as the College of Agricultural Sciences first year seminar and meets University first year seminar requiremets. The class provides an introduction to the College and University while encouraging students to review and adopt good study skills.
- ENGL 015 - Rhetoric & Composition - Meets the University General Education Writing/Speaking (GWS) requirements.
- KINES 089 - Introduction to Outdoor Pursuits - This course provides team building activities and beginning instruction in rock climbing, canoeing and caving.
Students continue their education outside the classroom through specially designed Agriculture Industry & Career Tours, Alumni/Student Activity Networking Events and Program Visits. Past tour visits have included:
- Ag Leadership at the Pennsylvania State Capitol
- Ag Progress Days
- Estemerwalt Log Homes
- Fred Eckel Sons Farm
- Lampire Biological Laboratories and Pharmaceuticals
- Penn State Mushroom Facility
- Wolfe's Powerline Dairy
