Equestrian Team
The Equestrian Team is a member of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA). It is open to full-time undergraduate students from all colleges who have an interest in horses and hunt seat English-riding. The coed team is composed of riders of all levels of skill and experience, even students who may not have ridden previously. The team competes in ten horse shows a year and qualifies for the regional, zone, and national Championships. In 2003, the Equestrian Team finished eighth in the nation at the IHSA national finals. Established in 1971, the team trains at Eastwood Farms and the members are required to take weekly riding lessons. Members are also required to attend Wednesday evening team meetings held on campus. In addition, the team is active with social events, fund-raisers, and invitational shows.
