Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education
Greetings, and welcome to Penn State's College of Agricultural Sciences! My name is Dr. J. Marcos Fernandez, and I have the privilege of serving as the associate dean for undergraduate education. Considered one of the premiere and most widely recognized colleges in the nation in agricultural and renewable natural resources, Penn State Ag Sciences is truly worthy of its far-reaching and outstanding reputation.
My role as associate dean is to oversee and promote all facets of undergraduate education in the college, including all matters related to our talented student body, our world renowned faculty and dedicated staff, our diverse offering of majors, minors, and affiliated programs, many of which are highly rated, and our numerous nationally ranked co-curricular programs (e.g., student clubs and organizations, intercollegiate teams, internships). We are known as a student-centered college, and we will make every effort possible to get to know each and every one of our students.
We have outstanding students at Penn State Ag Sciences! Our 2,300-plus students come from diverse backgrounds, and they bring with them a wide array of educational and career goals and objectives. They share one thing in common: they seek excellence and success. Our students accept the challenges of our rigorous but proven educational programs and seize the numerous opportunities available to them through our many professional and personal development co-curricular initiatives and programs. In addition, we take great pride in our teaching and academic programs. We have proven, award-winning faculty and a dedicated and caring staff ready to help you succeed and achieve your goals.
