AgChoice Farm Credit Scholarship in the School of Forest Resources
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time sophomore, junior, or senior students who are majoring in Wood Products or Forest Science in the College of Agricultural Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University, have achieved a minimum 3.0 grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale), and whose state of residence is Pennsylvania.
Bill Baldwin Memorial Scholarship in the School of Forest Resources
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the School of Forest Resources in the College of Agricultural Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success. First preference shall be given to full-time undergraduate students who meet the above mentioned criteria who are majoring in Wood Products in the School of Forest Resources. Second preference shall be given to full-time undergraduate students who are majoring in Forest Science in the School of Forest Resources.
Bartlett Tree Foundation, Inc., Grant-in-Aid
Consideration shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in majors in the Department of Horticulture or the School of Forest Resources who have achieved superior academic records or show promise of academic success have demonstrated interest in a career in arboriculture or urban forestry. Evidence of interest may consist of courses, work experience, or special projects in these fields. Supported annually by the Bartlett Tree Foundation, Inc.
**George C. and Madeline C. Bartley Scholarship in the School of Forest Resources
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate and graduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in any major within the School of Forest Resources in the College of Agricultural Sciences who have demonstrated academic merit, with a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher, and have a demonstrated financial need.
Robert W. Bauer Student Memorial Award in the School of Forest Resources
Consideration for this award shall be given to students who have obtained an associate degree in the Forest Technician program and have enrolled in the Forest Science program at University Park.
** Robert T. Billin Memorial Scholarship
Consideration shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the School of Forest Resources who have achieved superior academic records or show promise of outstanding academic success. Documented financial need will also be required for some of the awards made from this fund. Endowed through the estate of Robert T. Billin, Class of 1920.
** Robert Bliss Scholarship
Consideration shall be given to full-time undergraduate students who are enrolled or planning to enroll in the School of Forest Resources. Applicants must have completed two semesters of study, have an overall minimum grade-point average of 3.0, and have documented financial need. Endowed by Robert Bliss.
** James Clinton Burns Scholarship Fund
Primary consideration shall be given to students enrolled in the School of Forest Resources whose homes are located in Greene County. Secondary consideration will be given to those from Fayette County or Washington County. If no student meets these county-of-origin requirements, consideration shall be given to those from any other county in Pennsylvania. Recipients must have achieved or show promise of outstanding success and have documented financial need. Endowed by an anonymous donor.
Mark Petty Bush Memorial Scholarship in Wildlife and Fisheries Science
Consideration shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students currently enrolled or planning to enroll in the Wildlife and Fisheries Science major in the School of Forest Resources. Endowed by Ernest R. and Lynn P. Bush in memory of their son Mark.
** William J. Cox Memorial Fund
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate and graduate students majoring or planning to major in Forest Science in the College of Agricultural Sciences who manifest promise of outstanding academic success and have a demonstrated financial need. First preference shall be for full-time undergraduate and graduate students who have completed either a summer work assignment or full-time employment with a public or private forest resources entity or may be supported by a worker in the wood products industry.
** Danzer Group Scholarship in Wood Products
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the Wood Products program in the School of Forest Resources, College of Agricultural Sciences, who have achieved superior academic records or manifest promise of outstanding academic success and have demonstrated financial need.
Keith A. Davies Memorial Scholarship
Consideration shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the School of Forest Resources who have exhibited or show promise of superior academic achievement, have demonstrated outstanding qualities of citizenship, and participate in extracurricular activities within the school. First consideration shall be given to Wood Products majors who have graduated from Haverford High School in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Second and third preferences shall be those from Delaware or Montgomery County and those from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, respectively. Endowed by family and friends of Keith A. Davies.
Ferguson-Cope Forestry Award
This award is available to full-time undergraduate students enrolled in the School of Forest Resources who have completed a minimum of two years of study. Other criteria shall be academic achievement, extracurricular participation, character, and professional promise. Endowed by alumni of the school.
Bud Filler Annual Scholarship in the School of Forest Resources
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate students majoring in Forest Science or graduate students majoring in Forest Resources in the College of Agricultural Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University who have achieved superior academic records or manifest promise of outstanding academic success. First preference shall be given to students in Forest Science or Wood Products.
** Royal P. Fisher, Sr. and Virginia Breneman Fisher Scholarship in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences
Consideration of this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students majoring in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences in the College of Agricultural Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University and have a minimum 3.0 grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale). Preference shall be given to students who have a demonstrated need for funds to meet necessary college expenses.
**O. Ben Gipple Memorial Scholarship in the School of Forest Resources
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate junior and senior students and graduate students enrolled in the School of Forest Resources in the College of Agricultural Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University who are graduates of a Pennsylvania high school, are studying to be professional foresters, have average to above-average grades, and have demonstrated financial need. In any given year, if no students meeting the other eligibility requirements are studying to be professional foresters, a student in Wildlife and Fisheries Science may be considered.
** JELD-WEN Foundation Scholarship
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the Wood Products major in the School of Forest Resources, College of Agricultural Sciences, who have achieved superior academic records or manifest promise of outstanding academic success, have a demonstrated financial need, and are residents of Pennsylvania. Preference shall be given to incoming first-year students from Sunbury or Ringtown, Pennsylvania, which are communities in which a JELD-WEN facility is located. Each scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year and shall not be renewed.
Roger M. Latham Memorial Graduate Award Fund
Consideration shall be given to all full-time graduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the School of Forest Resources who have exhibited some exemplary achievement and are supervised by faculty in Wildlife and Fisheries Science. Established by the friends of Roger M. Latham.
Charles Lathrop Pack Forestry Prize
This award is open to students displaying the greatest ability to stimulate public interest in the study of forestry through the medium of magazine or newspaper articles. Submission of written material is required. Endowed trust.
** Keystone Kiln Drying Association Scholarship
Consideration will be given to full-time undergraduate students who are currently enrolled or planning to enroll in the Forest Science or Wood Products major and have achieved a minimum grade-point average of 2.5. Preference shall be given to students who have documented financial need and who are majoring in Wood Products. Supported annually by the Keystone Kiln Drying Association.
** Keystone Veneers Scholarship in Wood Products
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the Wood Products program of the School of Forest Resources, College of Agricultural Sciences, who have achieved superior academic records or manifest promise of outstanding academic success and have demonstrated financial need.
** Grant M. Miller Memorial Scholarship
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the College of Agricultural Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University majoring in Agricultural Education who have declared an interest in teaching rather than in extension education or who are majoring in Wildlife and Fisheries with an emphasis on management of healthy forests and wildlife population and protection or Landscape Contracting who have achieved a minimum 2.5 grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) and have shown improvement in their grades from the previous academic year and have demonstrated financial need. To the extent permitted by law, students shall be U.S. citizens.
Lester H. and Catherine E. Noll Scholarship
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Agricultural Sciences. First preference shall be given to students enrolled in ROTC who are also enrolled in the School of Forest Resources. Second preference shall be given to students enrolled in ROTC who are enrolled in any major of the College of Agricultural Sciences.
** The Carl I. Peterson Scholarship Fund
Students must be full-time undergraduates enrolled in the School of Forest Resources who have superior academic records, show promise of outstanding academic success, and have good character and documented financial need. Endowed through the estate of Carl I. Peterson.
** Orpha Kelly Rapp and Jesse Rossiter Rapp '15 Memorial Scholarship Fund
This scholarship shall be given to students enrolled in the School of Forest Resources who have completed at least six semesters as undergraduates or who are not holding an assistantship as graduate students. Further qualifications include superior academic achievement, promise of professional success, good character, and documented financial need. Endowed by J. Rossiter Rapp.
Orpha Kelly Rapp and Jesse Rossiter Rapp '15 Prize for Academic Excellence
Consideration shall be given to the senior with the highest grade-point average in the School of Forest Resources. Endowed by Elizabeth Rapp Tukey in memory of Jesse Rossiter (Class of 1915) and Orpha Kelly Rapp.
Irvin C. Reigner Endowment
Consideration shall be given to all full-time or part-time undergraduate or graduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the School of Forest Resources who have achieved superior academic records or show promise of outstanding academic success and may have documented financial need. William Allison Ritchey Scholarship in Forest Resources
Consideration shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the Forest Science major in the School of Forest Resources who are extraordinary academic achievers. First consideration will go to students who are members of Alpha Zeta fraternity. Endowed by Mrs. Diane Peterson Ritchey in memory of her husband William Allison Ritchey.
Ruffed Grouse Society Annual Scholarship in Forest Resources
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the School of Forest Resources in the College of Agricultural Sciences who have achieved superior academic records or manifest promise of outstanding academic success. First preference shall be given to students who are focusing on grouse or woodcock, wildlife, and forest response to forest management, such as clearcutting or shelterwood harvest, or other relevant work that enhances the understanding of how to manage healthy forests and wildlife populations.
L. W. Schatz Student Field Trip Fund
This fund is open to all undergraduate students in Forest Science or Wood Products who can benefit from group travel expense payments on faculty-directed field trips. The funds help defray the expenses of students attending professional meetings. Endowed by Louis W. Schatz.
** School of Forest Resources Scholarship
Scholarships shall be available to full-time students who are enrolled in the School of Forest Resources. Criteria include character, professional promise, scholarship, and documented financial need. Endowed through the estate of Joseph R. Jarvis.
Frank and Leonore H. Spearey Scholarship in Forest Resources
Consideration shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students pursuing studies in the School of Forest Resources. Preference will be given to students who begin their course of study at the Penn State Mont Alto campus. If there are not enough qualified candidates from Mont Alto, consideration shall be given to all students in the School of Forest Resources. Endowed by Frank Spearey.
Joan and Malcolm Stehman Scholarship in Wood Products
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students of freshman or sophomore standing who are enrolled or planning to enroll in the Wood Products program in the School of Forest Resources, College of Agricultural Sciences, have a career interest in the management, marketing, processing, or manufacturing of wood products, have achieved superior academic records or manifest promise of outstanding academic success, and have a demonstrated need for funds to meet necessary college expenses. Preference shall be given to freshman students. If no students meet the above preference(s) in any given year, the scholarship may be awarded to any deserving student in the Wood Products program.
** Joan L. and Malcolm H. Stehman Trustee Matching Scholarship
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Agricultural Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University who have demonstrated a financial need. First preference shall be given to students enrolled in the Wood Products major within the College of Agricultural Sciences who have a demonstrated financial need.
** John and Nancy Steimer Scholarship
Consideration shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students planning to enroll in the School of Forest Resources who have achieved superior academic records or show promise of outstanding academic success and have documented financial need. Preference shall be given to graduates of Tidioute Area High School. Second and third preferences will be given to those from Warren County and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, respectively. Wilber W. Ward Memorial Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is available to all undergraduate students, particularly first-year students, enrolled or planning to enroll in the School of Forest Resources who have achieved superior academic records or show promise of outstanding professional success.
