This degree program focuses on the molecular mechanisms by which chemicals affect health—either adversely, as toxins, or beneficially, as therapeutic agents. Students develop the skills to examine the effects of synthetic molecules on everything from cells to ecosystems.

Biomedical Sciences ClubThe Penn State Biomedical Sciences Club is open to students of all majors who are interested in the biomedical sciences.
Our activities will include informal research talks by faculty and students, opportunities to meet professionals in a wide variety of fields, workshops on admissions to professional schools of all kinds, and lots of fun with other students with interests like yours.
