The Mushroom Science and Technology minor is designed to prepare students for a career in the mushroom industry. The minor offers practical work experience at the University's Mushroom Research Center and Mushroom Test Demonstration Facility.
Requirements
Students are required to complete a minimum of 21 credits. The core of prescribed courses provides a foundation in the basic fundamentals of mushroom science and technology. Independent study courses may be selected by the student to emphasize various aspects of Agaricus or specialty mushroom production. A period of internship or a field experience is required.

The student must select, in consultation with the Mushroom Science and Technology adviser, at least two credits of independent study courses with the University's Mushroom Research Center or Mushroom Test Demonstration Facility.

Students may apply for admission to the Mushroom Science and Technology minor by submitting an Application of Admission to a Minor form in room 210 Buckhout Laboratory.
