Environmental and Renewable Resource Economics Minor

The Environmental and Renewable Resource Economics minor introduces students to how fundamental principles can be used to explain and seek solutions to problems related to the degradation of the environmental and unsustainable use of natural resources. The program complements majors that provide a natural science-based approach to environmental issues and provides social science majors interested in the environment additional tools for the analysis of social decision-making and policy objectives.

Requirements
Students interested in this minor must take the following three courses (9 credits):

E RRE/AG BM 201 Introductory Environmental and Resource Economics
E RRE/AG BM 429 Natural Resource Economics
ECON 302 Intermediate Microeconomic Analysis

In addition, students must select 9 credits from the following courses:

E RRE 431W Economic Analysis of Environmental and Resource Policies
ECON 428 Environmental Economics
AG BM 450 International Development, Renewable Resources, and the Environment
E R M 411 Legal Aspects of Resource Management
R SOC 327 Society and Natural Resources
Internship or independent study (3-credit maximum)

Procedures for Enrollment
Students must apply for admission to the minor by submitting an Application for Admission to a Minor form in 107 Armsby Building. The approval of the student's major adviser is also required.
