Requesting Funds for Competitive Events

Monies allocated from this proposal are intended to help defray expenses of only judging teams and other competitive intercollegiate teams based in the College of Agricultural Sciences.

REQUEST DEADLINE:

Spring 2010 Semester - Proposals are due December 4, 2009 

Proposals should be submitted to Denise Connelly in 101 Agricultural Administration Building by 5 p.m. on these dates.

ELIGIBILITY AND CRITERIA:

• All participating students must be in good standing with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0.
  
  
• Funds will not be allocated for an activity that depends on a team winning a prior event. In the situation where a team does need additional funding to continue in competition, a second proposal for supplementary funding may be made to the Office for Undergraduate Education.
  
  
• Requests for faculty/adviser travel will be denied.
  
  
• Complete Request for Funds proposal form.

 PROCEDURES:

• Competitive teams who wish to be considered for funding, must submit the Request for Funds proposal form with Part A: Cover Sheet and Part B: Budget Information completed, by the deadlines listed above.
  
  
• When filling out Part B: Budget Information, be realistic in estimating travel expenses. Travel expenses for events within 1,000 miles of University Park should be based on a "ground transportation" rate. Funding will be limited to $20 per day for meals and $25 per day for lodging, per person. Items not directly connected to or required for participation will not be covered unless included in registration costs.
  
  
• Propose strategies and efforts for preparation for the competition and also justify the number of students participating in the event.
