Summer 2009 Commencement
The Summer 2009 Commencement ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at the Bryce Jordan Center.
Graduates should arrive in academic regalia by 9:00 a.m. with their name card (sent in the mail approximately one month before commencement). Enter Gate B of the Bryce Jordan Center. Once in the building, enter the arena floor via Portal 15 and sit with your classmates. It is not necessary to take seats by alphabetical arrangement. Graduates must be in their seats at least 20 minutes prior to the beginning of the ceremony. For your reference, a seating chat can be viewed at: http://www.commencement.psu.edu/guestseating.html.
All students must be in academic regalia (cap and gown) or the uniform of one of the U.S. Armed Forces to participate in the ceremony. Caps and gowns can be purchased at the Penn State Bookstore (at the HUB) and the Student Bookstore (College Avenue). GRADUATES WITH DISABILITIES
Graduates should notify the Office of University Relations at 814-865-2501 by Monday, August 3, 2009, if they anticipate needing any type of special accommodation or have questions about the physical access provided.
Guests with Disabilities are to park in Orange L (the Founders Room lot) and can enter the Jordan Center at the Founders Room entrance. Special seating is available, but is limited to the guest with a disability and one other person.
GUEST SEATING/TICKETS
Seating for guests will be available on a first-come first-served basis. Tickets are not required and there is no guest limit. Admittance into The Bryce Jordan Center will be permitted at 8:00 a.m. at Gates A, B, C or D.
PARKING INFORMATION
General parking will be available in the Stadium West, Jordan East and Orange E (near Shields Building) lots. There is no fee for parking.
